If you looked up the word heartache in a dictionary, a definition you wouldn’t find is ‘Country Entertainer.’ That’s what Trey would tell you. It should be in there though, because it is a major part of any entertainer’s life especially a gifted songwriter like Trey Austin. Being a songwriter isn’t something you do on a whim… It’s something that chooses you, not the other way around. You’re born to it. Call it a gift or a curse; it can lift you up, help you through a broken heart, let you vent your anger, tell a story, or whatever your state of being at different stages in your life. Anyway you want to define it, the bottom line is that it is his way to express life’s experiences that everyone goes through at one time or another. |
Trey knows it first hand, he has experienced it all, from true love to heartache, good times to bad, and it’s all reflected in his original songs. He’s been down the road so to speak, from a road band called “Straight From the Heart,” to “Blackjack,” to “Caliche”, to The Cimmaron Band” and now the up and coming “The Trey Austin Band.” Music is his life, and no amount of money can replace the good times and the fans and the friends he has made along the way. His influences range from Hank Sr. to Stevie Ray Vaughn. His music shows the heart of a true entertainer. Pure country mixed with a Texas style and blues that range from New Orleans down and dirty to Stevie Ray Vaughn. Love him, hate him, or leave him alone, Trey Austin is one helluva entertainer who’s here to stay and you’ll be glad he did.
